As a new mama often on the go sometimes it's hard to do the most simple things like drinking water or having a real meal. I had been doing it for a while and didn't really notice until I got a 24 hour stomach bug and my body shut down needing rest and to rehydrate. The day I was sick was the worst day ever, not only was my body aching, I couldn't hold down any food or water, and on top of that I was exclusively breastfeeding G because she had the same bug the day before and could only have breastmilk. Not being able to keep anything down combined with giving G the few nutrients I had took a major toll on my body, I was weak and nothing seemed to help, I lost 7lbs in 48 hours, scary! Once the bug was gone I kinda just jumped back in the swing of things like I never left instead of allowing my body to rest and gradually catch up. I didn't realize how much rest I truly needed until I got back in town and settled in, I noticed I hadn't pumped in a while, not just because I didn't have time but it was because I didn't have the milk. I like to pump when one or both breasts are slightly engorged, but they hadn't been since before I got sick. This happened a few months ago, just not as intense, but I remembered reading about taking a "nursing vacation" and staying at home, bonding, resting, and of course nursing. Today I did just that, G and I chilled at home all day drinking water, Milk-Water-Tea, and Netflix & chilling. I feel much better, not 100% back but better. I have some work to do tomorrow but I will still take it easy.

We mamas spend so much time taking care of our kids that it can be so easy to forget to take care of yourself. Slow down, relax, and rehydrate mamas. Your body is like a car, and when you don't take care of it, it will shut down on you.

The amazing Mommy Tea I drank to replenish my milk can be found ----> HERE from Mrs. Patels, I also have used their fenugreek bars in the past. I ate one every morning and I got at least an extra 2-4oz than usual!
